It would be unwise to mistake me for an innocent debutante--for years I have graced the smoky gloom of many a billiards club and honed my skills at my father"s side. But now he has a new protege--Captain Greer Barrington--and while my father would see me attract the attentions of an eligible lord I, Mercedes Lockhart, have other ambitions. Even if that means seducing the captain to earn back my father"s favor! I know I must avoid falling for Greer"s charming smile but his sensual kisses could be worth the risk.

Crossing the terrace, she opened the door and stepped inside. While Julian could be counted on to be flippant, irreverent, and entertaining, George stood with his hands behind his back and said as little as he could. You've described Roscoe as an "inverted Batman.
Caroline, Duchess of Ridgware, certainly subscribed to that view. She did have some trust issues, but they were understandable given her past. This didn't occur to me until I was in my editing and polishing phase, when I deconstruct the work, examine the nuts and bolts, and then put it back together again. Roderick must have gone that way; other than the occasional room to either side, all silent, their doors shut with no light showing beneath, there was nowhere else to go. But now it is her turn to risk everything to claim her true love.
One Of the best romances I've listened to. Both Roscoe and Miranda contain the same critical character elements that typify my heros and heroines, namely the hero is a warrior, in a different disguise but still clearly a warrior, and the heroine is a strong woman - she has intrinsic inner strength.
